The N. S. Alexander House -Charlotte, NC
Truly a classic example of Queen Anne Victorian architecture, the N.S. Alexander Homestead, built in 1903, has been restored to its original glory. Don & Caroline Naysmith are the proud owners of the landmark which is listed on the Department of the Interior’s register of historic places.
The home has that rare warmth and charm that only time can impart. The beautiful woodwork has the patina that only a century can bring and the ambiance is enhanced with the home’s eight operational fireplaces. As you step through the front entryway, a great hall greets you with an intricate inglenook to one side, complete with fireplace. The parlor pocket doors run as smooth as silk, just as if they were hung yesterday. There are three large rooms on the main floor in addition to the butler’s pantry, country kitchen, bath and enclosed sun room. Upstairs you’ll find four large bedrooms, all with beautiful Victorian coal basket fireplaces.
